Article written by Dr Sam Davis, ND

missionaries had the privilege of conducting some
medical missionary work in one of the rural villages of
Tanzania. During my first week a young man came to me
and told me that he was suffering from terrible
heartburn, acid reflux (GERD). He said that the problem
was so bad that it kept him awake at night. In fact, it was
so severe that he had undergone surgery to find
relief.However, this had not worked.
When he spoke to me that day, he said he was desperate
to find some kind of solution. I asked him what time he
ate his last meal. He said that he would normally eat at
8pm in the night but it varied. He would often eat at
10pm, sometimes midnight before going to bed.He also
said that he was in the habit of getting up at night and
eating something before going back to bed. I pointed out
to him, that this was his problem right there. Eating late
at night.
