My Journey into Medical Missionary Work
article written by Nichole Reid RN
My journey into medical missionary work
began when I became a Seventh-day
Adventist and developed a deep interest in
the health ministry. I came to understand that
true healing involves the body, mind, and
spirit, guided by God’s principles.
At 18 years old, my mother was diagnosed
with type 2 diabetes. Through the knowledge I
gained from health seminars at church,
combined with prayer and the leading of the
Holy Spirit, I supported her in making lifestyle
and dietary changes. Within one year, her
diabetes went into remission, and she no
longer required medication, something that
amazed even her doctors.
A few years later, my adopted mother was
diagnosed with ovarian cancer. During
moments when she became unresponsive, I
felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to use simple
natural remedies, such as beetroot juice,
which helped to revive her during those
episodes.
Medical missionary work is not just what I do,
it is who I am. This is my ministry serving
others with compassion, sharing practical
health principles, and bringing hope through
Christ.
